Singapore Grand Prix (2013) RESULT
Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel has won the last two races, in Belgium and Italy, to extend his lead in the drivers’ championship, and he started today’s Singapore Grand Prix in pole position. And, just for a few seconds at the start of the race, it looked like Nico Rosberg in the Mercedes had got his fellow German’s measure as he swept past the Red Bull in the opening few yards. But it was a short-lived lead as Rosberg went too deep going in to the first corner and Vettel swept by to re-take the lead, and kept it to the end in an imperious display of driving in what is now starting to look like an unbeatable Red Bull.
Vauxhall Zafira Tourer undercuts the S-Max on price
We had the usual tease for the Vauxhall Zafira Tourer – Vauxhall’s answer to the Ford S-Max – earlier this year, with the Zafira Tourer finally turning up at the Geneva Motor Show in the Spring and a proper, production reveal a couple of months later. And it looks a convincing effort by Vauxhall to take the fight to the S-Max in the ‘Sporty’ MPV stakes. If any MPV can ever be considered a ‘Sporty’ proposition, that is.
The BMW i8 does 134.5mpg on the official cycle. The production version of BMW’s plug-in hybrid supercar – the i8 – finally arrived at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year offering almost proper supercar price – £100k – along with an almost supercar 0-62mph of 4.4 seconds. What the i8 also offers is ridiculous economy figures thanks to its plug-in hybrid power (and thanks to the daft way official economy figures are calculated) and now, as the i8 gets ready to go in to full production, BMW has revealed that the official economy figures have just got dafter.
